Do something practical for nature this winter! Join Jason on a Wild Wednesday of Conservation Volunteering at Dalegate Farm on the beautiful Norfolk Coast. There’s deep fulfilment from getting outside, doing exercise, meeting people and ending the day with dirt under your nails! Plus, you’ll make a real difference to local wildlife.
Deepdale Farm is changing. 60% of the land is now managed for wildlife. Regenerative farming is working with nature, growing organic crops while improving habitats for birds, invertebrates and more. You’ll get involved with a range of work around the farm, from planting trees to restoring hedgerows, managing woodland and more. All abilities and levels of experience are welcome. Not sure what you’re doing? They’ll show you! And if you’ve done this kind of thing before, Deepdale Farm can really use your skills!
Dress for manual work – practical shoes, thick socks, work gloves, layers and waterproofs – nothing you mind getting dirty or damaged! Come ready to work as part of a team and with a sense of humour – this work is fun, but sometimes the weather’s challenging! Sorry, no dogs at these sessions. The team will provide training, tools, equipment and supervision by first-aid trained staff. They want you to be safe! You’ll get a snack and hot/cold drinks too. For safety reasons, numbers are limited so please sign up to let them know you’re coming. Sessions start with a 9am briefing and end by 3pm – or when they’ve run out of jobs to do!
