For a truly memorable experience, sleep in a boat under the stars surrounded by the last wilderness in southern Britain. Sail your worries away on a 24-hour escape along the wild Norfolk coast in a traditional wooden Norfolk whelker, sleeping out for the night safely tucked into a peaceful, perhaps moonlit, creek, lulled by the tug of water and sounds of nature. Sail out of Wells harbour on the early morning tide and cross the Wells bar to the North Sea. Then it’s up to you to turn east to sandy Blakeney Point, west to Scolt Head Island or perhaps further to Brancaster or Thornham and choose where to overnight.
Take a long sail out at sea or explore the winding creeks for a magical day of foraging and wild swimming. This bespoke experience will be fine-tuned with you and your skipper, completely personalising your trip.
Breakfast, lunch and supper is rustled up using Norfolk’s best locally sourced food. Welcome the day with eggs and bacon or halloumi, mushrooms and tomatoes with tea or locally ground coffee. Later there might be artisan sourdough, Norfolk cheeses, pies, a picnic or piping hot soup. And of course, every explorer’s essential – homemade cake!
No experience is needed and the crew’s super flexible, so you can drive the boat and handle the sails or just sit back and relax! Up to 6 of you can go and hammocks, roll mats, and all other equipment is provided. Just bring your sleeping bags!
