Walk through 17 acres of enchanting woods and gardens at Bressingham and discover how to forage for natural materials needed to make a stunning, long-lasting seasonal garland. A knowledgeable guide will inspire you to see the decorative promise of wild and grown materials and you’ll learn to weave beauty from the changing seasons.
This small, friendly workshop uses no foam, plastic or glue, preferring locally found sustainable and compostable resources, meaning you can go back to nature and refresh your garland as the year turns. So, savour the joy of slowing down, immerse yourself totally in the moment and get creative! Please allow three hours to enjoy this experience.
The gardens and workroom are accessible to wheelchair users and the small informal sessions can be adapted for visitors with additional sensory requirements if notified at the time you book. You’ll have special access to parts of the gardens and estate normally closed to the public – just bring gardening gloves and comfortable shoes for all weathers! Everything else is provided for your use, including secateurs, pliers, a basket for foraging, wire and garden twine. You’ll be guided to gather all the materials needed for your creation, with expert foraging and wreath making tuition plus hot drinks and biscuits. And of course, you’ll take your handmade garland home with you.
